Power of Attorney Translation

A power of attorney is a document drawn up by a notary public indicating that a person empowers another person to act and make decisions on his behalf. Translation of power of attorneys can be tricky and complicated because of its structure. Therefore, it is always better to work with a professional power of attorney translator as they have skills and are specialized in legal matters. Thus, they’ll work on your documents in order to ensure that every single word is translated to the extent that the translated POA appears to be the original content.

  • Vehicle purchase and sale
  • Bank transactions
  • Customs transactions
  • Real estate purchase-sale and lease transactions
  • Clearing
  • Expropriation
  • Inheritance transactions. You can appoint another person as a proxy in many fields such as the above mentioned transactions.

If you are located in one country and need to appoint a person as your proxy in another country, it must be legal and documented to be valid in the country where the power of attorney will be used. When foreign nationals want to carry out the above mentioned transactions, they can apply to a notary public together with their tax numbers (can be obtained from the tax office), passport translations, passport photos and personal information of the person to be appointed as a proxy (Identity Number, Name, Surname) and have the relevant document drawn up. Every document is prepared in Turkish in the notary public, so the power of attorneys given by foreign nationals who do not speak Turkish must be translated by a sworn translator. Since the documents are prepared in Turkish in the notary public, it is obligatory to have the power of attorney prepared at the notary public together with a sworn translator for those who do not speak Turkish. The power of attorney issued in Turkish should then be translated into the relevant language. The translation of the power of attorney must be carried out by a sworn translator and then notarized. In many mental disability cases, state law will step in and force a court to appoint a guardian. Using a power of attorney can prevent a guardian from being appointed. Therefore, if you want to control who runs your business in case of mental disability, then it is important to plan the procedure correctly ahead of time. Without such planning, it is possible for a court to appoint an objective, irrelevant, and possibly less competent guardian for you. The agent under a general POA agreement may be authorized to take care of issues such as handling bank accounts, signing checks, selling property and assets like stocks, filing taxes, etc. and making other personal decisions. However, it is important to note that a Power of Attorney does not authorize the agent to do whatever he wants.
